De Havilland Fox Moth (in use from 1935 to late 1950's)
This historic photo is of the first RFDS aircraft at the Port Hedland Base in north-west Western Australia in 1935. The doctor and patient were carried in the enclosed nose whilst the pilot flew from the open cockpit towards the rear.
