We employ approximately 20 medical practitioners. There are three full-time at each of our rural bases, four part-time at our Jandakot Base and another four in full-time relief positions.

Medical practitioners are required to have a range of skills and experience including obstetrics, paediatrics, anaesthetics and emergency medicine, in addition to broad general practice skills. Most doctors have a minimum of five to ten years postgraduate experience and an affinity for working in rural areas.

We have recently commenced employing a number of experienced female GP's to provide visiting medical services to rural locations where patients do not have access to a female doctor. For further information see Rural Women's GP Program.
